Start with a Mexico package
Shop for Mexico coverage rather than assuming you need a separate city-branded product. Saily’s Mexico page explicitly discusses Cancún; still check the selected network around your hotel and excursions. Before arriving at the airport
Save transfer instructions, the hotel address and booking details offline. Install on a reliable connection if the seller’s activation rules allow it, and keep the support steps available outside your email inbox. Do not start a short validity period early without checking its trigger.
Resort week: estimate the time away from Wi-Fi
List the days you will leave the resort, plus transfers and any time you expect to work away from Wi-Fi. If you mostly need messages and occasional navigation, compare a smaller package alongside 10GB options. Check hotel Wi-Fi availability rather than assuming it meets your needs.
Riviera Maya, Tulum and island excursions
Check the actual places on your route, including transfer roads and meeting points. If you are taking a boat or ferry, keep tickets and return details offline. A land package should not be treated as maritime connectivity, and mobile reception should not be the only way you can find your group.
Two phones or one hotspot?
Compare the total for both travellers. Sharing can be useful when permitted, but the second person loses access when the group separates or the host phone runs out of battery. Verify a specific hotspot allowance before choosing one package for everyone.
Compare Rogers roaming for Mexico before purchasing, especially if your existing plan already includes the destination.
